GBPN vs Dialpad

Dialpad is a capable platform with real-time AI, video meetings, and desk phones, built for teams that are growing fast. For a small crew, automatic call recording means the Pro plan with a 3-seat minimum, texting is metered, and refunds end after 3 days.

We’re GBPN, so we’re not neutral. That’s why every fact about Dialpad on this page links to its source: their own website, their help center, their terms of service, their status page, the Internet Archive, or public reviews. Checked October 3, 2026, at monthly prices.

  • Texts beyond 250 outgoing per person each month, and texts on shared lines: $0.008 per text, $0.024 per picture message

Call recording

Automatic recording needs Pro, and Pro needs three seats.

On Dialpad’s Standard plan, calls aren’t recorded automatically. Someone has to press Record during each call. Automatic recording is on Pro, which is $35 per person a month with a 3-seat minimum.

So a one-person shop that wants every call recorded pays for three seats: $105 a month before taxes and fees.

With GBPN

GBPN records every call automatically, keeps it until you delete it, and adds an AI summary, all in the $30.

Texting

Your main line’s texts run on a meter.

Dialpad includes 250 outgoing texts per person each month, but only on each person’s own number. Its help center says the allowance doesn’t apply “on shared lines.” Beyond it, every outgoing text costs $0.008 and every picture message $0.024.

Dialpad also says it bills “for messages marked as Undelivered.” In May 2022, Standard was $20 a month billed monthly and listed “Unlimited SMS & MMS.” Today it’s $27, with the 250-text allowance.

With GBPN

GBPN includes unlimited texting and picture messages on your shared business number, and we don’t add registration fees to your bill.

The fine print

Three days to change your mind.

Dialpad refunds a cancellation only “within 3 days of the transaction date.” Its terms renew plans automatically for the same length unless you give notice 30 days before the end, and if you leave an annual term early, you’re “responsible for all charges for any remaining time.”

With GBPN

GBPN has no contract, and you get a 30-day money-back guarantee.

“If the cancellation is within 3 days of the transaction date for both monthly and annual billing on the credit card, a refund will be processed.”

“you are responsible for all charges for any remaining time left on the Annual Term”

Who you’re buying from

$418 million in venture money, aimed at a billion in revenue.

Dialpad has raised $418 million from investors including ICONIQ, OMERS, GV, and Andreessen Horowitz, and its last round valued it at $2.2 billion. Its CEO has said he expects Dialpad to grow to over $1 billion in annual revenue. Its newest products are AI agents and contact centers, sold through its sales team.

Our read: Investors at that scale need big customers and fast growth. A small crew that just needs its phone to ring and its texts to send isn’t where that money is aimed.

With GBPN

GBPN is family owned by Eric and Kaitlin Turner, self-funded since 2017, with no investors.

“To date, Dialpad has raised $418 million in capital”

“we believe we’ll grow to over $1 billion in annual revenue in the next few years”

What Dialpad customers say on r/dialpad

r/dialpad is a small subreddit. The posts that get the most replies are about texting registration that never clears, charges people say they didn’t expect, and accounts or numbers that disappear.

Ratings elsewhere, October 3, 2026

Most Dialpad reviews are positive, and plenty of customers love the app. The themes below come from the rest.

Texting registration

Months of rejections and delays before texting works.

“Dialpad has continuously failed our registration efforts, delayed approvals, and provided little to no support.”

“SMS registration is impossible to pass.”

Charges and refunds

Licenses people say they were sold, and refunds they didn’t get.

“I've been trying to get this issue resolved for 5 months, but they’ve stopped responding.”

“They completely lied to us with respect to pricing on the sales call and are now refusing to do any refunds after the fact.”

Numbers and accounts

A business number gone, and an account shut without a reason.

“Dialpad won't tell me how it got ported away or why it was allowed to happen.”

“Dialpad just suspended and shut down my account and won't tell me why.”

To be fair

  • Dialpad’s apps are well rated: 4.6 on the App Store and 4.3 on Google Play. Some owners call it the best phone system they’ve used.
  • Dialpad publishes its incidents on a public status page, which not every company does.
  • A small subreddit can’t tell you how common a problem is. Read a few pages and judge for yourself.

Don’t take our word for it.
