GBPN vs RingCentral

RingCentral is built to scale: 24/7 phone support, video meetings, desk phones, and hundreds of integrations. For a small crew that mostly calls and texts customers, you pay per person, fees come on top, texting is capped, and leaving early can mean paying out the rest of the contract.

We’re GBPN, so we’re not neutral. That’s why every fact about RingCentral on this page links to its source: their own website, their help center, their terms of service, the Internet Archive, or public reviews. Checked October 3, 2026, at monthly prices.

a month: 3 × $30 + $25 SMS Booster. Plus taxes and fees.

RingCentral costs $85 more a month. That’s $1,020 a year.

RingCentral adds taxes, plus cost recovery and E911 fees it doesn’t publish. Its pricing data for Minnesota, where advertised prices must include mandatory fees, adds $5 per person.

Why this plan

Only with GBPN

  • Unlimited texting.Core includes 25 texts per person a month and Advanced 100. More are sold separately.
  • Keep call recordings past 90 days.RingCentral stores recordings for up to 90 days.
  • Month to month, no contract.RingCentral’s terms renew automatically and make you pay the rest of the term if you leave early.

RingCentral prices are its monthly-billing prices from its pricing page, checked October 3, 2026.

On top of RingCentral’s plan price

  • Taxes, plus RingCentral’s own cost recovery and E911 fees; its fee pages don’t publish amounts
  • More texts than the plan allows: sold separately; a shared text inbox (Business SMS Booster): $25
  • Texting registration: carrier fees passed on to you
  • AI Receptionist: from $39 a month

With GBPN

  • $30 a month is the whole price: taxes and fees included.
  • No per-person pricing. Add your whole team to one number.
  • We don’t add carrier registration fees for texting to your bill.

RingCentral prices are per user, billed monthly. Its pricing page opens on annual prices ($20 and $25), which need a yearly contract that renews automatically.

The price you see

Fees come on top, and RingCentral doesn’t say how much.

RingCentral’s pricing page opens on annual prices: Core at $20 a person, with the monthly price of $30 crossed out. On top of either, RingCentral charges its own cost recovery and E911 fees. Its fee pages say these aren’t taxes and aren’t required by the government, and they don’t list amounts.

There’s a clue. A Minnesota law, in effect since 2025, says businesses can’t advertise a price “that does not include all mandatory fees or surcharges.” RingCentral’s own pricing data has a separate Minnesota version, and in it, Core and Advanced carry a $5 fee per person.

Our read: If Minnesota buyers see $5 per person added to the price, we think it’s fair to expect fees around that much everywhere else, too. For a crew of five, that’s about $25 a month on top of the plan.

Texting

From “unlimited business SMS” to 25 texts a month.

In 2021, RingCentral’s cheapest plan listed “Unlimited business SMS.” Today, Core includes 25 texts per person each month, and Advanced includes 100. More are sold separately, and a shared text inbox is an add-on, the Business SMS Booster, at $25.

Getting texting approved is its own job. RingCentral passes on registration fees, and its own annual report warns that registration “can be cumbersome and costly and may cause customer churn, especially for SMB customers.”

Leaving

Leave early, and you pay for the rest of the term.

RingCentral’s terms renew your plan for the same length unless you give notice at least 30 days before it ends. If you leave early, you owe “all sums remaining unpaid for the Services for the remainder of the then-current Term.”

To cancel, RingCentral says to “call or chat with support,” and the account is “disabled for 30 days before being canceled.” Cancelling disconnects your phone numbers, so you have to move them first.

With GBPN

GBPN has no contract and a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you ever leave, we help you take your number with you.

Who you’re buying from

A public company that spends 44 cents of each dollar on sales.

RingCentral is a public company with $2.5 billion in revenue in 2025, and that year it spent 44% of its revenue on sales and marketing. Its founders hold a majority of the voting power.

Our read: A company that size answers to shareholders and to its largest customers. A three-person crew with one phone number isn’t who it’s built around.

With GBPN

GBPN is family owned by Eric and Kaitlin Turner, self-funded since 2017, with no investors.

“our founders, including our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, together hold a majority of such voting power.”

To be fair

  • RingCentral’s apps are highly rated: about 4.8 on both the App Store and Google Play.
  • Its support is 24/7 by phone and chat, and its community team replies to complaints on Reddit and Trustpilot.
  • Big companies get more reviews from unhappy customers. Read a few pages and judge for yourself.

Three people pay $115 a month before fees and taxes. GBPN is $30 a month for the whole team with taxes and fees included. For one person, the list prices are the same, but RingCentral adds fees and caps texting at 25 a month.

How many texts does RingCentral include?

Core includes 25 texts per person each month, and Advanced includes 100. More are sold separately. GBPN includes unlimited texting.

What fees does RingCentral charge?

Taxes, plus its own cost recovery fee and E911 fee. RingCentral says neither is a tax or required by the government, and its fee pages don’t list amounts. In RingCentral’s pricing data for Minnesota, where advertised prices must include mandatory fees, Core and Advanced carry a $5 fee per person.

Can I cancel RingCentral anytime?

It depends on your term. RingCentral’s terms renew automatically unless you give notice 30 days before the end, and leaving early means paying the rest of the term. To cancel, you call or chat with support, and the account is disabled for 30 days before it’s canceled.

Does RingCentral have better support than GBPN?
